Del Shannon Displays

Del Shannon's Platinum Record award for "Runaway"A display of gold records and memorabilia from Del Shannon, an early rock 'n' roll star and Coopersville native. Here is the platinum record Del earned for "Runaway". Take the Museum Quick Tour to see additional collection materials. 2011 will mark the 50th anniversary of the release of "Runaway." Special celebrations will mark this milestone during the 2011 Summerfest celebration the first full week of August. Come join the fun!

1966 Del Shannon Memorial dedication with Dan Bourgoise & Brian Young at the Coopersville Area Historical Society Museum, Coopersville, MI 49404The Del Shannon Memorial was erected and dedicated in 1996 and sits between the Interurban Depot and the Interurban car "Merlin" under renovation next to the museum. Dan Bourgoise, Del's former manager, Brian Young (wearing the memorial celebration t-shirt), President of the Del Shannon Appreciation Society, and many of Del's family were present for the dedication.

Also, in late 1998, Brian Young posted the Official Del Shannon Web Site. Here, you can join the Fan Club, and check out interesting goings-on in the world of Rock 'n' Roll.

On March 15, 1999, Del was inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH!

So, those of you who have the shirts and posters from the Memorial dedication have something very unique. Unfortunately we are no longer licensed to reproduce these items so they are even more valuable!
